System Based Audits and Organizational
Evaluation.
We evaluate existing organizational structures, identify areas for
improvement and assist hands-on in the change process, all in cooperation
with the organizations themselves and according to the circumstances in
each particular case. To make a fair description of the current state of an
organization our Team carries out an audit including personal interviews,
documentation analysis and field studies.
The overall objective of a systems-based audit is to evaluate the
organization's systems and routines for management and governance. The
output is a report presenting the current situation and providing
recommendations on how to address problems and implement change.
We also help organizations manage change, which can be time consuming
and difficult. Different approaches are applied depending on the
organization, the culture and the leadership
The Moscow School of Political Studies is a good
example of a SIDA-funded NGO with the mission to help
build an open and democratic society in Russia by
delivering seminars on subjects such as "Principles of
democracy", the "Rule of law", "human rights" and "the
civic society". The Moscow School of Political Studies is
well known for promoting democracy by challenging
domestic injustice and recognized internationally for
making a diffrence. SDA was contracted by Sida to carry
out a comprehensive audit of the organizational structure,
governance and the financial control, including an in
depth analysis of reporting systems, authorizations and
procurement procedures. An audit like this gives the
donor an inside look at everything from project
management systems and chart of accounts to the
financial sustainability of the organization they want to
provide funding for.
Femmes Africa Solidarité (FAS) is a non-religious,
apolitical NGO working to promote the role of women in
conflict prevention, management and post-conflict
reconstruction on the African continent. SDA´s assignment
has been to review the organization and give the donor
recommendations as to whether FAS systems are ready to
cope with core/programme support and to channel funds
in a reliable way.
In 2009, SDA finalized an organizational analysis of
institutions involved in Human Trafficking in five
Central American countries. The study focused on the
public institutions working to hinder the crime and
care for its vicitms. As a result the Inter-american
Development Bank granted the five countries funds to
improve cross-border cooperation.
